How do I manage crypto assets in Brave Wallet? Follow
In addition to safely storing your crypto assets, Brave Wallet allows you to view market prices/trends, as well as Buy, Send and Swap assets from accounts you’ve added directly in the browser.
Viewing asset market activity
To track a particular asset and view details, simply click on any visible asset you’ve added on the Portfolio
page of your wallet:

Buying crypto
To buy crypto assets in Brave Wallet, click on the Buy
tab on the right side of the wallet screen:
- With the
Buy
tab selected, click the drop-down arrow to select the type of currency you would like to buy and enter the amount (in USD) you would like to spend. Then select either the `Buy with Ramp` or `Buy with Wyre` network option in the drop-down menu. ClickContinue
. - Here, you will see a summary of how much of the selected currency you’ll be receiving as well as the wallet address of the account the funds will be deposited into once complete. Click the Debit/Credit box to change the purchase method for this transaction. Note that in order to user payment methods other than Credit/Debit, you will need to have or create a Wyre or Ramp account.

- When this information is correct, check the box to agree to the Wyre or Ramp user agreement, then click Next.
- On the next page, enter your payment information and click
Submit
to complete your purchase.
Sending crypto
To send crypto assets from Brave Wallet to another wallet address or exchange, click the Send
tab on the right side of the wallet screen:
- Click the
Account
icon next to the name to select which account you want to send assets from (if not already selected). - Select the appropriate network for the transaction (Ethereum shown in example above).
- In the next section, select the type of asset you would like to send and enter the amount you would like to send.
- In the next section, enter the address of the wallet you would like to send the chosen assets to.
- Click
Send
.
Swapping assets
To swap an amount of an asset you currently have in your wallet with another crypto currency, select the Swap
tab on the right side of the wallet screen:
- Select the appropriate account and network you’d like to use for the transaction.
- Enter the amount and type of crypto currently held in your wallet that you would like to swap/exchange for a different currency.
- Note that once you enter any amount > 0 in this box, an estimate of the amount you’ll receive in the second currency during the swap will automatically be displayed.
- In the next box (below the down arrow), select the type of crypto currency you’d like to swap with what is in your wallet currently.
- Select the desired Slippage tolerance for the transaction.
- Note: “Slippage” is the difference (in percentage) between the quoted and executed prices of the transaction.
Click Swap

Manage accounts
Clicking the Accounts
tab from the wallet main page will list all accounts added to your wallet. On this page, you will have the option to view/create a backup seed phrase (the same backup process that you saw during onboarding) for your wallet, which will allow you to restore your wallet should you need to. Clicking on an account name will show you the balance of all assets in the account. From here, click on the pencil icon to
- Rename the account
- View/copy the account address
- View account QR code (for deposits)
- View account private key
Additional wallet settings
On the Accounts
tab, you can click the “gear” icon to adjust the browser's wallet settings and behavior (you may also get here by going to brave://settings/wallet
).
Default cryptocurrency wallet - Use this option to set the default wallet the browser will use when interacting with dApps while browsing:
- Brave Wallet (Prefer extensions) - Select this option if you have a Brave Wallet created, but want sites to default to using a different wallet extension, such as MetaMask for dApps.
- Brave Wallet - Select this option if you want dApps to use your created Brave Wallet.
- Crypto Wallets (deprecated) - Select this option if you elected to use the old Crypto wallets setup rather than the new Brave Wallet implementation. Depending on your installation, you may not see this option.
- None - Select this option if you do not want sites/dApps to interact with any installed or created wallets.
Default base currency - Choose the currency you wish to view asset value in when using Brave Wallet. This is set to USD by default.
Default base cryptocurrency - The currency by which you compare all other currencies.
Show Brave Wallet icon on toolbar - Choose to show/hide the wallet icon on the browser’s toolbar.
Automatically lock Brave Wallet - Choose how long it takes (in minutes) for the wallet to lock while inactive.
Networks - Add custom networks for the wallet to transact on.
Reset Wallet - Reset Brave Wallet. Note that all data will be erased (including any accounts/held assets) when selecting this option.
