How do I manage Cookies and Site data in Brave on Android? Follow
Cookie Default Settings
There are three different cookie settings, all of which can be controlled via Brave's Shields, or by navigating to Settings --> Site Settings --> Third-party cookies
.
Allow all cookies
, Block third-party cookies
, Block all cookies
.
Block third-party cookies
is the default cookie setting. This setting allows sites that use first-party cookies to function — for example, some sites use first party cookies to log into a site — while at the same time, it prevents ads or third party cookies from tracking your browsing activity.
Some sites may break from blocking all cookie content. Therefore in some cases you may need to enable Allow all cookies
.

How to delete site data "on exit"
There are also options for users who would like to clear site data automatically (that is, without having to go into settings and use the options discussed above). Brave can be configured to automatically delete all browsing data once the application is closed on your device. To do this:
- Launch Brave and tap
Menu --> Settings --> Brave Shields and Privacy
- Scroll down to the
Clear browsing data
section and toggle theClear data on exit
option "on" (to the right, as shown below):
Note that enabling this option will automatically delete all browsing data when the Brave app is closed. Additionally, this will only trigger if the application is fully closed - simply minimizing the browser or switching to another app on your device will not cause the browser to delete data.
How to delete data for a site when the site is closed
Enabling the Forget me when I close this site option will tell the browser to clear any data that would normally be saved on a specific website once you close that tab. This is a Shields option and can be enabled on a per-site basis by opening the Shields panel while on the site, tapping Advanced
controls
then toggling the Forget me when I close this site
option "on" (left image below).
Alternatively, this option can be enabled by default, such that it is enabled for all sites until specified otherwise by going to Settings
--> Brave Shields & Privacy
and toggling Forget me when I close this site
"on" (right image below).
Manage site data with Shields
Brave Shields also offers additional options for controlling what data gets stored, blocked, or cleared while browsing. For more information on how to use Shields to control your data, please see How do I use Shields while browsing?
