How can I add my other Crypto Wallets to Brave (deprecated)? Follow
Crypto Wallets in Brave is completely separate from Brave Rewards. This is a standalone component which lets you send, receive, and use BAT and other Ethereum assets and collectibles — as well as interacting with Ðapps and other smart contracts. This feature is meant for people who are already familiar with Ethereum or are excited to learn.
To add a new local or hardware wallet to the browser:
- In Brave, click the main menu, go to
Settings --> Cryptowallets
- Select
Connect/Create
in New Local Wallet, Ledger, or Trezor, depending on the type of wallet you'd like to add.
Local Wallet
After clicking Create in the New Local Wallet box, you'll be prompted to create a password for this new wallet.
Once you've created a password, click Create
. The next screen contains your Secret Backup Phrase to use should you need to restore your wallet, as well as information on how to ensure the security of your wallet and secret phrase. Note that you may use the link on the right to download your Secret Backup Phrase to your device directly. Click to reveal your phrase, or choose Remind me later
, then Next
to move forward with the creation process.
If you chose to reveal and clicked Next, you'll be taken to the Secret Backup Phrase confirmation screen to ensure your phrase is correct. Click on the words boxes one at a time to recreate your phrase in the box above. Note that these words must be in the same order as they appear in your phrase. You may also click and drag words within the box in the event you entered a word incorrectly. When your phrase has been entered in it's entirety, click Confirm
. If entered correctly, you will be shown a "success" screen, click All done
to view your newly created wallet.
Note: Brave will not ever store or allow access to your seed phrase to anyone besides you. This ensures that only you can backup, restore or access your seed phrase and wallet data.
Ledger
Click Connect in the Ledger section to add a new Ledger hardware wallet to the browser. Ensure your Ledger device is connected to your machine and unlocked. Once you've chosen Ledger --> Connect
, you'll be asked to select which Ledger account you'd like to view in Brave. Select the account you wish to add and then click Unlock
.
Your Ledger hardware wallet is now connected to the browser.
Trezor
Ensure your Trezor device is connected to your machine before starting the process. Click Connect in the Trezor section to connect a new Trezor hardware wallet. You will be shown a screen requesting permissions for the browser to read keys from Trezor, with the option to Allow once for this session
or Always allow this service
.
Once permission is granted, you'll be asked to export your key for this account. Click Export
, then enter the PIN associated with your Trezor device. After entering your key, choose which account you want to add to the browser, then click Unlock
.
