If you are switching between Brave builds, upgrading from our previous Muon version, or moving data between machines, you will want to make sure you backup any Wallet information. This ensures access to the Wallet should something happen to your Brave profile and allows you to import your Wallet data into a new installation of Brave Browser.
To backup your Payments Wallet from Brave (Muon):
- Launch Brave (Old)
- Open the Main Menu
- Navigate to Preferences --> Payments
- Select Settings -->Backup your Wallet
To backup your Rewards Wallet in Brave (Core):
- Launch Brave; in the Address bar, click the Rewards Icon
- Select Rewards Settings
- Select Settings --> Backup your Wallet
Note: DO NOT loose your recovery key for your Wallet. Without this, your Wallet cannot be restored.
To Restore your Wallet
Follow the steps above for backing up your wallet in the appropriate version of Brave and select Restore your Wallet instead during the last step.
