How do I use the built-in password manager in Brave [Android]? Follow
When you enter new login information on a website, Brave may ask if you want to save that login for the next time you visit that site. Tapping Save on the prompt displayed at the top of screen once you login to a site will save the login data for that site into the built-in password manager.
Tapping on the "gear" icon shows additional options, allowing you to select Never for this site, which will prevent the browser from prompting you again when you enter login data for that particular site. You can also use the Edit password option to quickly access and change the information entered.
Managing saved passwords
You can view and managed passwords saved in the browser by opening the Main menu then tapping Settings --> Brave Password manager
:
Here, you can view all your saved passwords. There are a couple toggles at the top of the page you can use to configure password behavior in the browser:
- Save Passwords: Toggling this option on/off will allow or prevent the browser from prompting you to save login information in the browser.
- Auto Sign-in: Toggling this option on will tell the browser to automatically sign you into sites (if not signed in already) that have login information saved in the browser. If this option is "off", you will need to re-enter this information when you go to login. Note that with autofill enabled, you will still be able to quickly enter this information into the required fields using the saved login data.
Tapping on a password entry on this page allows you to view, copy, edit or delete password data for that site. To edit your password information, simply tap into the text field to begin editing.
- You can delete the entry by tapping the "trash" icon on the top-right of the screen.
- You can copy the username or password to the device clipboard by tapping the "copy" button to the right of the relevant field.
- You can view/reveal the saved password by tapping the "eye" icon in the password field.
Note that you will be prompted to enter your device system password, fingerprint or PIN (depending on what password method used to unlock your device) to in order to reveal the saved browser password.
