What is the Brave VPN Kill Switch? Follow
The Kill Switch is a privacy protection feature available for Brave VPN users on iOS devices. When enabled, this privacy feature automatically disconnects your device from the internet if your VPN connection drops unexpectedly, helping prevent potential IP address and data leaks.
How it works
The Kill Switch operates silently in the background as a safety measure. If your VPN connection is interrupted for any reason, the Kill Switch immediately disables your device's network connection to ensure your real IP address and data remain protected. This prevents any accidental exposure of your internet traffic that might occur during the brief period when your VPN is disconnected.
How to enable the Kill Switch
For users who have a active Brave Firewall + VPN subscription and are using version 1.75 or higher on iOS, you can enable the Kill Switch by:
- Open Brave Browser on your iOS device
- Go to
Settings
- Select
Brave VPN
- Find the
Kill Switch
option - Toggle the switch to enable the feature
When enabled, you'll see the following description: "When enabled, if your VPN connection drops unexpectedly, your device will automatically be disconnected from the internet, to prevent IP-address and data leaks."
Please note that the Kill Switch feature:
- Does not collect or process any user data
- Works independently without requiring additional third-party services
- Operates as an advanced security measure in the background
- Adds an extra layer of privacy protection to your VPN connection
