Brave VPN FAQ Follow
A firewall forms a secure barrier between your device (phone, tablet, or computer) and the internet—it blocks unwanted trackers, viruses, and more from your device. A virtual private network (VPN) creates a private network for you and your device, no matter how you’re accessing the internet—even on a public or non-secure Wi-Fi network. Brave VPN offers the benefits of both VPN and a firewall to protect you online. It protects at the network level, on your entire device, on every app you use.
At this time, Brave VPN is available in the Brave Browser for Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows. You must have Brave installed in order to use Brave VPN.

During initial setup of Brave Firewall + VPN, you will be asked to install a profile on your device. In this case the profile is just a file that contains VPN connection details. The profile is necessary for the VPN to work, and to enable functionality like the filtering / blocking of trackers. Note that this profile is independent of the Brave Browser. For iOS users, Apple requires that users enter their device pin code / biometrics when setting up a VPN.
Not at the moment, but we are actively working on this. We hope to offer Brave Premium purchases with BAT in the near future.
Brave VPN is powered by a partnership with Guardian. Together, Brave and Guardian offer support, so you never have to worry about a broken connection or trouble getting through to tech support.
